
State-Level Championship Witnesses Massive Participation
An Invitational State-Level Karate Championship was successfully held on 13th and 14th December at Meena Tai Thakare Stadium, drawing participation from nearly 650 karate players representing various parts of the state. The two-day event showcased high levels of competition, discipline, and sporting spirit among young martial artists.
Outstanding Performance by Oppidan Golden Dragon Karate Academy
Athletes from Oppidan Golden Dragon Karate Academy delivered a commendable performance at the championship. Supported by the Oppidan India Group, the academy’s students demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, with 10 participants securing medals across different categories, bringing pride to the institution and the region.

Medal Winners Across Kata and Kumite Categories
The medal winners from the academy included Sanvi Sawant, who secured second place in Kata; Laweeza Sheikh, who won first place in Kata and second place in Kumite; Aliza Sheikh, who earned third place in both Kata and Kumite; Adiba Chaudhary, who claimed first place in Kata and third place in Kumite; Maira Chaudhary, Arsh Chaudhary, Zaith Chaudhary, and Sanvi Kalbhor, all of whom won third place in Kata; and Ayat Chaudhary, who secured third place in Kumite.
Special Honour for Yuvraj Gawade
A major highlight of the championship was the remarkable achievement of Yuvraj Gawade, who was awarded the prestigious “Best Player of the Championship” title in the Under-16 category. His performance stood out among hundreds of competitors and earned widespread appreciation.
Coaching Excellence and Organisational Support
The championship was organised by Vishwa Sports Academy, ensuring a well-managed and competitive sporting environment. The success of the Oppidan Golden Dragon Karate Academy athletes was credited to disciplined training and consistent guidance under Head Coach Om Ingole and Coach Omkar Munde, whose efforts played a crucial role in shaping the players’ performance.
